K-Klass

As tastes and fashion relentlessly fluctuate in the field of dance music, few acts outlive a particular era. K-Klass are an exemption, and during their eight year history they have managed to embody everything that is prevalent at each particular period without losing their definitive style to the winds of change.

Wales ' finest need little introduction - one half of the famous remixing and DJing team, Carl and Andy have lived, breathed, ate and slept dance music since their anthem 'Rhythm is a Mystery' smashed it's way into clubland all those years ago. Always upfront and ground breaking the taffs have impressed wherever they've played, and are now finally receiving the accolade they deserve.

As headliners in their own right, K-Klass can look around at the calibre of their contemporaries and constantly be justifiably proud of their achievements and status in clubland.

The all star cast drawn to their exceptional remixing experience include Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Another Level, Sash and the Corrs, all of whom have had huge UK chart success thanks to the boys. They were in fact the first British artist to win 'Remixer of the Year' at the International Dance Awards.

From their soul influenced interpretation of Carleen Anderson's True Spirit to their pop orientated biggest selling dance remix; Bobby Brown's Two Can Play That Game, K-Klass have once again manifested their inborn ability to venture across musical barriers without losing that essential dance element.

More recently K-Klass have been spending most of their time in the studio, but regardless of their busy schedule they have been able to play in some of the UK's finest clubs, including 'The Met' in Armagh, 'Miss Moneypenny's' Birmingham, 'Club Non' in Huddersfield and 'Sugar Candy' in London, and it doesn't stop there K-Klass's travels have taken them all over the world including Ibiza, Australia and Singapore . Biography/Background :

Formed: 1988 in Wrexham, Wales

One of the more omnipresent remixing teams on the British house scene of the 1990s,

K-klass emerged in the late '80s, founded by Andy Williams and Carl Thomas after the demise of their previous band Interstate (who had played with 808 State on the early house scene). The Welsh duo added Paul Roberts and Russ Morgan, and began recording with 1990's Wildlife EP. Late the following year, K-klass' single "Rhythm Is a Mystery" reached the Top Five and they began their continual residence in the club charts with later singles "Don't Stop," "Let Me Show You" and "What You're Missing," from their debut album, 1993's Universal. By the mid '90s, K-klass had begun to move away from

the original blueprint of British house and towards a more mainstream, song-oriented approach though one which embraced trance, nu-disco and even ambient-house.

K-klass remixes of Whitney Houston, Blondie, Frankie Knuckles, M People, Lulu, Bizarre Inc. and Bobby Brown became sizeable dancefloor hits. The 1996 K-klass LP Remix and Additional Production displayed their allegiance to post-production, perhaps to the detriment of their own recording career.
